Type certified wind turbines

The table below is an overview of type certified wind turbines that must be installed in Denmark. Depending on the certificate date of issue the following orders from the Danish Energy Authority are complied with:

After 01.07.2008: Order no. 651 of June 26, 2008 on the technical certification scheme for the design, manufacture, installation, maintanance and servicing of wind turbines

Before 01.07.2008: Order no. 1018 of August 20, 2007 on the technical certification scheme for the design, manufacture and installation of wind turbines

Before 10.09.2007: Order no. 1268 of december 10, 2004 on the technical certification scheme for the design, manufacture and installation of wind turbines

Before 01.01.2005: Order no. 270 of may 2, 1991 on typeapproval and certification of wind turbines

The validity of each certification category is:

  1. A-type approval: max. 5 years from issuance date

  2. B-type approval: max. 1 year from issuance date

  3. Prototypes and demonstration max. 3 years from issuance date

The wind turbine certificates can be linked to by the use of a password, which is only passed on to national authorities, and local system operators, grid and electricity supply companies.
